that is so cool! kind of funny hearing someone talk about hide and seek in such a serious newscaster voice too. ps. your hair looks awesome.
That looks like a blast!! I wanna play too! How difficult would it be to organize? I like the hair. :) You met you GF through this? (Or was I putting your name on the wrong face?)
Now that I’ve seen the video here, I keep seeing it on TV! They just showed it again on CTV’s Good Morning Canada. What a hoot!
I’m not an organizer but it doesn’t seem difficult – the hardest part is getting people to show up consistently every 2 weeks. Games with 5 people are less fun. They use FaceBook mainly (there’s a Manhunt Montréal group where games are posted) and there’s also a blog and mailing list. As far as picking locations goes, Montréal is well supplied with sketchy back alleys downtown and in nearby areas. You obviously want an area with lots of these, parking lots, etc. The size of the area depends on how many people show up – it gets reduced for smaller games. And yeah, that’s me with green hair (thanks!) And I did meet through this. I moved to Montréal fairly recently and one weekend last fall, I was faced with “what do you do when 99% of your social group is invited to a wedding and you’re not?” Well, the answer in my case was “go to manhunt, and find people from there who are going drinking afterwards.” And the rest is history :)
woo! :D
